Dead Silence Twist Ending

Screenwriter Leigh Whannell is known to feature twist endings. His Saw, Dead Silence, and Insidious movies employ plot twists to shift resolutions into unique directions. We never suspect Dead Silence will end with a twist.

However, the movie ending reflects back on small scenes to explain this twist ending. If you haven't watched Dead Silence, avoid reading the twist ending spoiler below.

***Dead Silence twist ending spoiler***

Mary Shaw is a ventriloquist accused of killing a small boy. This small boy attempted to embarrass Mary Shaw, revealing her doll wasn't real to the live audience.

The town took the law into their own hands. They ripped Maria Shaw's tongue out, and then buried her with all of her dolls.

The curse is that Maria Shaw would rip your tongue out. This story was told to children to scare them. Mary would kill any person who screamed after seeing her, removing their tongues and hollowing out their heads.

In the twist ending, Jamie approached his wheelchair-bound father. His father slouched over, exposing his hollowed-out back cavity. It is then we learn the truth about Jamie's father.

Ella Ashen, presumed to be the wife of Jamie's father, is an expert ventriloquist. She carved out the perfect doll of his father, tricking him into believing he was actually alive.

The twist is revealed through flashbacks in which Jamie remembers Ella next to his father's side. We can see Ella guiding his voice and body movement.

In this twist ending,  a possessed Ella turns into Mary Shaw and kills Jamie. Ella tells Jamie who is the dummy now? She kills him. The trickery is the spirit of Maria Shaw murdering Jamie's wife to draw him close to his father and the town. As a result of this, Jamie is the last living descendant of families connected to those who were responsible for Mary Shaw's death.

Cool twist ending. Leigh Whannell uses plot twists in all of his movies. Watch his Saw and Insidious movies for these clever twist endings. Insidious features a similar ending to Dead Silence. Lastly, watch the original Saw movie to witness possibly his best twist ending.

The Loft twist ending

The Loft, a movie about five married men who share a luxury loft, featured a twist ending. We never expected this twist, but it is obvious the writer went the extra mile to conceal this twist until the truth exposed an unsuspecting character.

Back in 2011, I could have watched a free screening of The Loft in Los Angeles. I didn't R.S.V.P. in time, so the screening spots filled up and I missed watching this thriller movie. However, those in attendance at this free screening may have contributed excellent feedback to stall the release of The Loft. The movie didn't reach the box office until last year, which turned out as a box office failure.

We will discuss the twist ending below to shed light on the writer's intentions.

***Spoiler Alert***

In The Loft, Luke Seacord (Wentworth Miller) loved Sarah Deakins (Isabel Lucas) beyond words. He was jealous that Vincent Stevens (Karl Urban) had an affair with Sarah. Out of love, Luke drugged Sarah, and then injected a fatal dose of insulin in her arm.

Why did Luke do this? If Luke couldn't have Sarah, nobody could be with her. He orchestrated a fake suicide to make Vincent pay for always taking advantage of everyone.

What Chris Vanowen (James Marsden) discovered is that Sarah didn't die from an overdose. She was in fact alive after presumably taking the pills. Luke is shocked to learn this. Philip (Mathias Schoenaerts) mutilated Sarah's arm to make it appear she committed suicide.

Chris coerced the truth out of Luke, telling him Vincent will go on trial for her murder. The real twist ending jolts the previous plan to teach Vincent a lesson for his transgressions. Luke wrote the fake suicide note that read, "See you in the next life."

Luke gains the trust of his friends by sharing secret tapings of Vincent sleeping with women who are important to them. To keep the focus off of him, he reiterates that Vincent uses everyone and deserves his fate. Vincent tries to explain his case, but Luke leaves out the suicide letter.

The female detective shares that Vincent's prints are on the knife, no suicide note and the pills didn't kill her. This revelation precedes the final twist.

The main twist ending is that Luke setup this fake suicide out of love for Sarah. He didn't know that she was alive before Philip slit her wrist, so this revelation is a shock. Sarah admitted to Luke she felt nothing for him, and maybe they could be together in the next lifetime.

Luke wanted Vincent to pay for being with Sarah. His grand plan gets exposed because Chris pieces together the facts. He finds the fake suicide note in the trash. In most good twists, flashbacks are used to reveal all major points. We watch these flashbacks to tie up all loose ends.

Nevertheless, Vincent getting charged for murder twisted the plot further. After learning of this, Luke indicates that his brother Philip killed Sarah. Chris interrogates Vincent to give up, it is over.

The Loft twist ending is executed quite well to trick viewers. Ultimately, the irony is that Luke actually commits suicide himself after he faked the suicide of Sarah to repay Vincent. In the end, Luke ends his life to avoid embarrassment. His final words to Chris: tell his wife and his kid he loves them.

The Gallows twist ending

The Gallows is a new horror movie about a fictional high school reopening its controversial "The Gallows" play 22 years after a young boy, Charlie, got hanged in the climatic ending. This supernatural thriller infused Blair Witch Project techniques into its plot to woo horror fans into movie theaters. The Gallows delivered a modest opening weekend on a $22 million production budget.

Did you know The Gallows features a good twist ending? If you haven't watched The Gallows, then avoid reading this movie spoiler.

***The Gallows twist ending***

As we know, Reese's father Rick called in sick and Charlie was called upon to finish The Gallows play. The spirit of Charlie takes revenge to murder Rick's offspring, Reese.

Charlie is on a revenge mission to tie up all loose ends. His soul choked the life out of Ryan and Cassidy. Reese is so close to escaping this possessed school; however, his promise to protect Pfeifer draws him back into the play that must go on.

The spotlight shines down on Reese and Pfeifer. Reese is anything but bad in this revival role, the same climatic ending that took Charlie's life in 1993. He recites his lines like a Shakespearian. actor. Pfeifer counters these poetic lines with a somber sympathetic touch, confessing her love for Augustus.

The two tragic performers both share a passionate kiss. A second spotlight illuminates the gallows. Reese bravely walks up wooden stairs. He loosens the rope, and then fastens it around his neck.

We see Charlie repositioning the rope around Reese's neck. At this moment, we sense Reese will experience the same fate as Charlie. Reese pleads to Pfeifer to leave now.

In a powerful trance, Pfeifer remains in character. She refers to Reese as Augustus. He begs her to stop acting and leave. The anticipation of the hanging intensifies us. Finally, the platform drops and Reese falls to his death. His limp body swings back and forth.

Pfeifer bows to an empty audience. The supernatural Charlie holds her hand. All of a sudden, a mysterious guest is clapping. We discover that Charlie's girlfriend is in attendance to celebrate The Gallows finale. She gives Pfeifer a standing ovation.

Police enter Charlie's girlfriend's home. The officers search for the suspects who killed three high school students. One officer finds Charlie's girlfriend combing Pfeifer's hair. On a television set, the 1993 version of The Gallows is playing. The two women are under a deep trance.

The officer begins to show fear, realizing there is an eerie connection between these women and Charlie. He calls for backup, but his partner is pulled up to the hallway ceiling. He yells out Charlie.

Pfeifer tells the officer you shouldn't say his name. Charlie appears out of nowhere. He kills the officer.

The Gallows twist ending is that Pfeifer convinced the school to reopen The Gallows play. She lured Reese into playing Augustus, an insidious plan to make him pay for his father's mistake.

The final reveal is that Pfeifer is Charlie's daughter. The girlfriend and her daughter join forces to avenge Charlie's death.

The Duplex twist ending

Danny Devito's The Duplex (2003) is a comedy starring Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore. This American Dream come true theme turns into a nightmare and this calls for drastic measures. Alex Rose (Ben Stiller) and Nancy Kendricks (Drew Barrymore) move into their dream home and they life begins to fall apart. One person keeps this couple from living their perfect life together in a fabulous duplex in New York City.

The Duplex features a twist ending that is tightly woven. Most viewers didn't suspect this twist until the exact moment this payoff played on the screen. If you haven't watched The Duplex yet, then avoid reading the twist ending below.

***Spoiler Alert***

Alex Rose and Nancy Kendricks purchase an amazing duplex in an eloquent neighborhood in New York City. Alex is an author, whereas Nancy works in publishing. There is one catch in this perfect beginning; the older woman who lives above and in their duplex is needy and irritating.

The old woman is impossible to please. No matter how hard this couple tries to meet their landlord obligations, this old woman manages to overcome every obstacle put in her path. She causes a disbalance, eventually influencing this couple to get rid of her. However, the old woman is like an indestructible German tank unwilling to accept defeat.

Alex and Nancy practically lose their jobs. They hire a hitman to murder the old woman, but the extermination plan is wrecked and this practically cost them to lose everything they own. Then, a fire breaks out and Alex chooses to save the old woman he and Nancy wanted so badly dead.

The real estate agent finalized the deal. He convinces the couple to say goodbye to the old woman. When the real estate agent and couple see the old woman, she is sitting in the chair lifeless. The real estate agent checks her pulse and confirms she is dead.

Alex and Nancy have this disgusted look planted on their faces. The timing of her death was terrible. They could have retained the duplex, instead of losing out a bundle selling it early.

The couple discuss the old woman, wondering if she's in heaven. They seem to put their hatred aside to honor this old woman.

In the twist ending, the old woman is still alive. She is having dinner with her son and his policeman boyfriend, who terrorized the couple. On the mantle, we see a wedding photo on the mantle along with many others. We learn that these three people duped many couples to sell the duplex. It is a recurring theme for couples to purchase the duplex, and then sell once they couldn't take the torture anymore.

The end.

Insidious Chapter 2 twist ending

Insidious Chapter 2 has a twist ending. It is a quick twist to leave the door open. If you didn't watch Insidious Chapter 2 yet, avoid the twist ending below.

***Spoiler Alert***

What is the twist ending for Insidious? The twist ending occurs in the last scene in which Elise walks into the home of an accident victim and is drawn to an entity that resides behind this injured woman. Based on Elise's shocking look, we believe the entity is the red-faced demon from the original Insidious movie.

This twist ending washes away the happy ending we think screenwriter Leigh Whannell is attempting to give us. James Wan does a great job hiding the discovery to wrap Insidious Chapter 2 up with an open ending. In this last scene, Elise's facial expression conveys to us that this red-faced demon will be back in the third Insidious installment.

The twist ending is making us believe the Lambert family is finally safe. But for the most part, another entity or the red-faced demon is preying on the next soul to reach and possess Dalton. Enjoy watching Insidious Chapter 2!

Fast & Furious 6 twist ending

Fast & Furious 6 deals out a twist ending. There is more to this twist than most moviegoers anticipate. Recent Fast and Furious movies are infamous for showing a twist at the end.

However, the Fast & Furious twist explains the plot design. If you haven't watched Fast & Furious 6 yet, then avoid reading the twist ending below.

***Spoiler Alert***

***Twist Ending***

What is the Fast & Furious 6 twist ending? Did you walk out of the movie theater too early? Miss the movie end credits? Fast & Furious 6 twist ending occurs in the post-credits.

Dom and his surrogate family have a barbecue to celebrate their reunion at the Los Angeles home featured in The Fast and the Furious (2001). Fast & Furious 6 is believed to end with this scene.

Not so fast! The post-credits show two hands steering a car that is powering down Tokyo streets. Japanese voices reveal a high speed chase going on downtown. This scene is reminiscent of Tokyo Drift, which is a twist to explain the plot design.

A silver Mercedes slams right Han's orange Mazda RX7 Veilside. Han's car rolls on its backside. A surprise twist is that Owen Wilson (played by Jason Statham) exits the silver Mercedes.  He walks up to a trapped Han and drops down a silver necklace belonging to Letty.

Owen walks away, as Han's car explodes in the background. He calls Dom, telling him, "You don't know me, but you are about to". Fast & Furious 6 ends with a twist. Tokyo Drift is now a part of the Fast and Furious movie plot design. Han is now dead.

This post-credit scene opens the door to the catalyst of Fast & Furious 7. It is highly possible that Lucas Black will make his comeback in Fast 7.

Jesse and Sam hide in the room. Daniel breaks down the door. All of a sudden, everyone disappears. Jesse walks inside his previous home. He chases after his brother Sam. He sees his mother Lacy laying face down in blood. Blood smothers the floor.

Jesse's father Daniel is sitting on the kitchen floor with a shotgun He tells Jesse that he is right about him being a failure. Jesse watches his father blow his head off, albeit we only hear the gun sound off.

Then, Jesse hears porn movie sounds. He walks into the room to find his best friend and girlfriend sitting on the edge of the bed. They ask Jesse to watch the video with them.

Jesse finds Sam. He tries to get Sam's attention. Without any warning, Jesse reenters present time and space. The Alien beings surround Jesse. Daniel and Lacy are frightened because their main focus is on Sam. "The Grey" (Aliens) smother Jesse, beaming him up to an unknown location.

Jessie goes missing. Local news reports that a young 13-year boy goes missing and the parents are the prime suspects. The Alien expert, Edwin, reads about Jesse in the local newspaper. He cuts out the story and hangs it up next to hundreds of missing children.

The Barrett family, minus Jesse, moved into an apartment. They have the same shrine of missing children clippings as Edwin. Daniel is clean shaved. He accepts a phone call regarding his missing son. They are instructed to report to court because of their possible involvement in Jesse's disappearance.

Lacy and Sam look at Jesse's belongings. Lacy sifts through past photos. She begins to show emotion. Her oldest son is missing somewhere out in the universe. He is with "The Grey".

Lacy discovers multiple drawings, the same Sam recent created after the mysterious alien encounter. There are many drawings showing three Aliens taking his hand, possibly guiding him to their spaceship.

Dark Skies twist ending shows us Edwin asking whether any unexplained illnesses occurred among their family members. She remembers telling a potential homebuyer that it gets easier - referring to the daughter's asthma and her son's past experience. The flashbacks explain that Jesse is the target all along.

Jesse was the first family member to meet the Aliens. The Grey come back to take Jesse away. Sam hears the walkie talkie radio making noise. He adjusts the frequency, faintly hearing Jesse trying to escape the Aliens. Lacy hears her son for one last time.

The screen fades to black, as the movie end credits begin to roll. We never know what happens to Jesse and the rest of the abducted children the Aliens remove from thousands of households. The signs are there, which all the missing reports are similar to the Barrett family.

The end.

Sinister twist ending

Sinister features an awesome twist ending. The plot is designed to give clues of the twist. 2012 is the year good metaphysical movies with twist endings. Ethan Hawke plays a great author that stumbles upon a box of Super 8. The twist ending in Sinister is not your typical happy ending. If you haven't watched Sinister yet, beware we will be revealing the twist ending.

***Movie Spoiler***

The Sinister twist ending is unpredictable. We see the Oswalt family exit their home as quickly as possible. Ellison realizes his book plan - moving a home involved in a murder scene - backfired on the family.

Deputy So-and-So (name Ellison gives him) attempts to call Ellison throughout the day. Ellison ignores the Deputy's call several times, albeit he takes his call. There is a pattern to the murders. Every family lived in the same homes, so there is a pattern to the murders.

If you remember back to the various footage, there is a camera following the murders. The families were usually helpless, unknowingly meeting their impending death in different ways. The twist ending is that every missing child in these cases committed the murders. Pagan deity Baghul, the eater of children, possessed the child to kill their family.

Ellison rediscovers the movie box again. He is shocked to see a box he torched at his previous home. He finds an envelope with split film ends. This film ends given an explanation to the murders. Baghul possessed the missing children, who are each responsible for killing their families.

Ashley is the final piece to the puzzle. She poisons her father. In the dining area, Ashley ties up her family. Ellison is helpless. Ashely drags an ax in one hand, and a film camera in another. She butchers her entire family. The missing children show up on the film footage.

Baghul appears behind Ashley. He picks her up and the two enter the film screen. Sinister twist ending conveys that Baghul possessed the missing children from the previous murders. These children filmed the murders. The catch is the children committed the murders with a lawn mower, fire, hanging, and then finally an ax.

Ashley draws a picture of her family chopped up in pieces. She tells her father that she will make him famous again. He is longing to find his groove again after writing a best selling crime book. Baghul possessed the children to murder their families. The children committed the murder while filming their insidious act.

Ellison and his family die. There are no survivors. The last remaining child killers are consumed in the film. Baghul is an evil Pagan demon that recruits the children to carry out his evil plan.

Sinister conveys a cycle that keeps repeating itself. The next family will discover the same movie box. They will watch the film. In the end, one child will murder them.

Great twist ending to end an awesome horror movie. Sinister is a movie well worth watching this weekend.

House at the End of the Street twist ending

House at the end of the street twist ending resembles Sleepaway Camp. We sense the movie ending will serve up an identical twist. The psychological thriller builds up tension to release a good twist that explains the motivation driving the plot.

Moviegoers are given enough clues to understand the twist ending. Good twist endings are predicted or are shocking revelations that answer the inciting incident. The inciting incident is revealed in the first 5 minutes of the movie with a murder.

We want to learn more about the murder. The twist ending explains the inciting incident. if you haven't watched House at the End of the Street yet, then beware the twist ending is shown below.

***Movie Spoiler***

Elissa shoots Ryan. He falls to the ground. She draws closer to Ryan. While Elissa carefully searches Ryan's pockets, he grabs a hold of her wrist. Sarah whacks Ryan on the side of his head with a mallet. He drops to the ground, supposedly dead from the gunshot wounds and the head trauma.

The plot points prior to this basement scene reveal that Ryan is more than just a victim. He accidentally kills a girl we think is his sister Carrie Anne. While trying to silence the girl, Ryan breaks her neck on accident. In the movie ending, Ryan replaces Carrie Anne with another Penn State college girl.

Elissa finds blue contact lenses in the garbage can. She remembers that Carrie Anne has natural blue eyes. The college girl is a Carrie Anne replacement to fill Ryan's need to connect with his deceased sister. He never recovered from Carrie Anne's death. The twist ending is ready to deal out the shock.

Elissa and Sarah are moving out of their home. We feel the House at the End of the Street will end. A psychiatric institute is shown in plain sight. We enter a dark room. Ryan sits there quiet. We know then he survived the head trauma and the gunshot wounds.

We see a flashback of a little girl sitting at a table. The mother tells the young girl Carrie Anne happy birthday. The little girl says I'm Ryan. Thus, the mother slaps him and tell him to shut up because he is Carrie Anne.

The twist ending is that Carrie Anne never murdered her parents. Ryan accidentally pushed his sister too hard on the swings and she endured fatal head trauma. Ryan's punishment was to replace Carrie Anne. Ryan got tired of living as Carrie Anne that he murdered his parents.

House at the End of the Street does a good job to conceal the twist ending. We get a few clues to put the plot pieces together. House at the End of the Street delivers a clever twist ending to explain the opening scene. We realize that Carrie Anne died as a young child. As a result, Ryan was forced to accept punishment to live as Carrie Anne. The flashbacks convey the reason he is out of his mind.

Batman twist

In the new Batman movie, there is a major twist in the end. There are four significant events in the movie ending. These plot points twist the plot, as we think the opposite in the setup and development. The first and second act hide the truth of such events up until the movie ending. We will the Batman twist with dishing out TDKR spoilers.

***TDKR spoilers***

The Dark Knight Rises twist ending is several twists wrapped up in one major finale. We Batman fly an atomic bomb outside of Gotham to save the day. However, we are sure Batman survives the atomic blast. Fox discovered that Bruce Wayne repaired the autopilot function. We are supposed to think this revelation is enough evidence Batman survived the atomic blast because he is not in the Bat plane.

Batman looks like he is accepting a huge decision with about 5 second remaining on the bomb timer. This atomic ending is a major twist since Batman has never been put in a position to possibly die. Batman fans are furious to even read anything related to the Dark Knight's death.

Repairing the autopilot function has little impact on whether Batman survives or dies. Thus providing the autopilot information give Batman fans hope that their caped crusader survives the atomic blast. How can Batman survive an atomic explosion? Batman is in the Bat plane up until the a few seconds remaining in the explosion.

Are we supposed to believe Batman is flying inside another Batman plan while controlling another? Batman managed to swap Bat planes with less than 2 minutes to go? Oh year, Batman beat Bane to a pulp to coerce him into giving up the whereabouts of the remote detonator. Showing Batman in the Bat plane is not out of sequence. It is too easy to suggest Batman is in another plan playing Russian roulette with millions of lives. We believe Batman dies in the atomic explosion.

Miranda reveals she is Ra's Al Ghul's daughter. She is the one who climbs out of the pit instead of Bane. In same scene, Catwoman shoots Bane dead with the Bat bike cannons. Bane is dead. The surprising twist is learning that Miranda is Talia, Ra's Al Ghul's daughter.

An event more twist occurs in a few scenes later. Batman makes the critical decision to fly the atomic bomb out of Gotham City. Gordon tells Batman he is a hero. Batman responds, "Anyone can be a hero. Even a man who put a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended." Wow! This is nice twist that Batman finally reveals his true identity in an important moment in both Gordon and Bruce's lives.

Gordon consoles Bruce at his darkest moment. Only Bruce can reveal this moment to Gordon. It is significant for Batman to serve up a major clue to Gordon. Gordon has no idea who Batman really is. Now Gordon knows, as Batman saves his son's life and is on the verge of sacrificing his life to keep Gotham safe.

The twist is on again with John Blake retrieving a bag. He reveals his name as John "Robin" Blake. It keeps getting better in every given second to advance The Dark Knight Rises ending.

We are not done yet. In the previous scene, Alfred is emotionally distraught, crying a river at Bruce Wayne's grave site. He feels he has failed the Wayne family. Their beloved son is now dead. Alfred is the only person to show major emotion with the passing of Bruce Wayne. We Blake showing emotion through anger. He tosses his detective badge in the river a few seconds after the atomic blast kills Batman.

Fox learns that Bruce Wayne repaired the autopilot. This revelation is intended to give Batman fans hope their favorite hero is alive. In the Italian cafe scene, Alfred is having coffee or tea. He looks over at the usual location that he shares with Bruce in the turning point linking the first and second act.

Surprisingly, Alfred sees Bruce Wayne is somehow alive and is dining with Selina. However, Selina's face is facing the street. Alfred has a look of happiness on his face. Bruce acknowledges Alfred with a slight grin. We think this is a dream scene or a fantasy. Batman fans think an autopilot fix is enough evidence to save Batman. We think Alfred is dreaming of this moment.

If Alfred is not supposed to be live a life of pain with Master Bruce gone, then this Italian Cafe scene is hinting his death. His last image is a subconscious thought of Bruce finding happiness. Why think that ending with a dream sequence is inconsistent? Alfred doesn't know that Bruce is with Selina. Her face is never shown in plain view. The cafe scene is intended to covey Bruce's happiness, which is possibly Alfred's fantasy, a dream, or his last dying wish that is projected through a subconscious image.

The cliffhanger introduces us to the transformation of John Blake into Nightwing. He represents the new hero rising in The Dark Knight Rises. With the passing of legend, there is a new beginning in a new hero. Blake is guided to the Bat Cave. The platform then moves upward with Blake rising. This cliffhanger ending is a twist to set our sight on an origin of another chapter.

Batman twists are surprising since we never expect any of these events. A twist ending is a revelation, which can happen a number of ways such as the protagonist experiencing a major discovery, the moviegoers finding out new information that twists the plot, showing flashbacks to previous unknown events, serving up a major event that is later revisited, and even working backwards such as Christopher Nolan's Memento. Twist endings are intriguing because they change the outcome. Movies with a twist are exciting to watch since moviegoers must piece together plot clues like detectives.

The Dark Knight Rises movie features twist after twist in the ending. In the twist, we learn Miranda's true identity, Gordon discovers Batman's identity, Bane is not the young boy from League of Shadows, Batman dies in an atomic blast, Alfred may have died as well, and John Blake is hinted to become Nightwing. The Dark Knight Rises twist ending features multiple endings with several plot twists.

Rest Stop twist ending is never expected, though by the time we discover the twist the interest in the movie already flamed out in the midpoint. If you haven't watched Rest Stop, beware that will be dishing out the twist ending spoiler.

***Twist Ending***

Nicole is trying to keep Officer Michael Deacon (Joey Lawrence) alive. He is severely wounded, profusely bleeding out on the ground. The killer is keeping the two hostage inside a rest stop restroom. Nicole is missing a few of her fingers, which the killer pried off through the door.

After a night of terror, the truth about Nicole's fate is uncovered. In the next morning, she shouts and screams from inside a rest room. She tries to seek help.

A person hears a woman's voice. We assume the serial killer murdered Jess, Officer Deacon, and Nicole the previous night. Nonetheless, the murders occurred long ago. The twist ending is that Nicole, Officer Michael Deacon, Jess, and others are missing people. Their pictures are posted on a nearby pole along with missing runaways.

The serial killer murdered people who stopped at the rest stop. Nicole never realized she died until the end. Her soul keeps reliving the nightmare of the night her boyfriend got killed, the police office died, and when the serial killer took her life.

Rest Stop is a B grade flick you can find a Blockbusters. You can also purchase the movie with clicking on the image. Rest Stop twist ending answers the catalyst of what happens to Jess and Nicole. We figure out the twist ending is a resolution to their murders. Good twist ending in a low budget horror movie.

Movies with Twist Endings 2012

***Warning***

***Plot Spoiler***

The 2012 movie box office released a few movies with twist endings. We all know that M. Night Shyamalan is the master of twist endings. However, we are seeing more twist endings than usual in Hollywood movies. Twist endings in horror movies changed the dynamics of the plot design. The 2012 box office is leaning toward establishing itself as the year of twist endings.

A twist ending occurs in the film ending. Thus, moviegoers are showered with the complete truth to the plot through flashbacks. What moviegoers expect in the final resolution is instead a twist with a catch. Some examples of twist endings in movies are Fight Club, Memento, The Sixth Sense, Psycho, The Game, and Sleepaway Camp. In the film ending, the moviegoer discover a major twist to explain the plot.

2012 box office movies with twist endings bring back the classic twist most moviegoers enjoy most. The best twist endings make the movie experience an exciting psychological game. Intruders, The Devil Inside, The Woman in Black, and Cabin in the Woods utilize twist endings for better and or worse.

Intruders explains that Juan as a boy is John as an adult. His mother covered up the death of his biological father with telling him a false story. John grew without knowing his father died, though the initial traumatic episode remained suppressed in his mind up until adulthood.

John's daughter finds the Hollowface story, which she is led to believe nonetheless the fake monster with no face is a real monster. The paranormal movie is thus a psychological thriller designed to trick the moviegoer. We feel this twist ending is effective enough to explain the origin of Hollowface.

The Devil Inside twist ending is a disaster. Most exorcism movies end with the last exorcism. However, The Devil Inside filmmakers decide to insert a car crash into the exorcism movie to end their film abruptly. This twist ending is one of the worst ever. What exorcism movie in the past ends without performing an exorcism? None!

The Woman in Black twist ending is great. Arthur reconnects the woman in black with her son. However, the twist ending tricks the moviegoing public into believing Arthur and his son will live happily ever after. The father and son die in the end. As a result, Arthur and his son Joseph bond with Stella, a mother and wife who prematurely passed away moments after giving birth.

The Woman in Black twist ending is awesome. Moviegoers watch Arthur join his wife in the afterlife. Even better, Joseph meets his mother for the first time ever. Horror movies should imitate twist endings such as The Woman in Black and Intruders to build suspense in the movie plot.

The most recent science fiction/horror movie Cabin in the Woods is the new king of bad twist endings in horror movies. Hence, Cabin in the Woods is staged as a slasher film up until the ultimate twist ending reveals the dumb movie plot.

Moviegoers soon realize the disaster in shaping the slasher horror film into a science fiction/fantasy movie. Cabin in the Woods integrates far too many genres into one movie. Here we have a horror movie piled on with subgenres sought out to boost creativity and originality. In this horror movie twist ending, the buffet of genres create confusion.

What is the Cabin in the Woods really about? Why is the movie so stupid? How can fears and nightmares attack and kill living people? Gods, rituals and end of the world themes all in one are totally ineffective to make the movie interesting. Hands down, Cabin in the Woods projects the worst twist ending in movies.

The 2012 movie box office is dealing out twist endings like there is no tomorrow. We suppose twist endings in horror movies give moviegoers, but tricking everyone with a twist ending that shifts the genre is poor execution.

Moviegoers will likely discuss the Cabin in the Woods twist ending. It is a twist ending unlike most slasher movies. The best scene in the Cabin in the Woods movie is the film ending. The twist ending dragged on too long, and then introduced mythical creatures, dreams, nightmares and fears into an all-in-one movie disaster. Cabin in the Woods is a stupid, dumb and terrible movie with a bad twist ending.

***Sucker Punch twist ending***

Sucker Punch is a metaphysical movie with a twist ending which resembles Shutter Island. The Sucker Punch twist ending is that Babydoll devises a plan to help Sweet Pea escape the mental institution.

The resolution in the third act leads the moviegoers to put together the clues. Babydoll astral projects multiple times to engage the institutionalized girls in her fantasy. If the moviegoers watched the girls operate in reality, then Sucker Punch would have been rather boring.

The Sucker Punch twist ending reveals to the moviegoing public that Babydoll planned the escape to help the strongest girl leave the mental institution. The story is never about Babydoll's journey. Therefore, the twist ending shows the doctor performing a lobotomy on Babydoll to end her fantasy.

Sweet Pea manages to escape the mental institution, meeting the Wise Man in Babydoll's fantasy world. We consider the fantasy world an astral world and or the astral plane. Sweet Pea doesn't recognize the Wise Man because Babydoll somehow creates highly intellectual fantasies.

The Sucker Punch twist ending is that everyone helped Sweet Pea escape the mental institution. Babydoll does stab Blue in the neck, starts a fire, and also create a club scene which the mental patients and herself are female dancers. Once out of reality, the moviegoer recognizes the workers as part of the reality. Babydoll astral projected into the astral worlds to escape mental pain.

The Sucker Punch twist ending conveys a fantasy world to cover up a dark world. Babydoll sacrificed her sanity to save another stronger girl to leave a place she doesn't belong. In the twist ending, the characters in the fantasy are created to explain the plot design through astral projection techniques.

The Master of Twist Endings: M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan is known as a writer/director who executes twist endings in his metaphysical movies. Most of M. Night's movies are related to spiritual themes. Even M. Night acknowledges that most critics and movie fans identify him as the master of twist endings. When you think of M. Night Shyamalan's movies, they mostly features twist endings.

M. Night Shyamalan bursted onto the Hollywood scene with The Sixth Sense. Although the writer/director made several films prior to the 1999 The Sixth Sense mega-blockbuster, the Disney movie showed a darker side to the twist ending in action.

The horror movie with a twist revealed a major plot twist that explained Malcolm's existence. The Sixth Sense marked the beginning to many twist endings in M. Night Shyamalan's latter films.

Unbreakable featured a twist ending. The Village ended with a twist. The Lady in the Water also employed another twist. The Happening twist ending ceases climate destruction on the East Coat of American, only to start up again in Paris, France.

M. Night's sponsored the Devil movie (his story) that also features a major twist ending with the Devil appearing in the flesh to scare the Hell out of the movie audience and the cast members. The Last Airbender also ends with a twist.

M. Night will always be recognized as the writer/director who utilizes twist endings. In The Sixth Sense, Malcolm is a ghost the entire movie. The Village portrays a village stuck inside another time. We enjoy M. Night Shyamalan's twist endings because he explains the plot points to shed light on the reason such events occur in the movie. We think back to the setup to connect the dots.

The master of twist endings is planning to make a future movie - After Earth (2013) - with Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. We expect M. Night to use his trademark twist ending in the Alien movie due out next year. Twist endings are fun to watch since the film ending shocks us with a revelation.

The Thing (2011) twist ending

The recent The Thing (2011) movie is supposedly a remake of the 1982 John Carpenter horror classic. In the newest The Thing, the twist ending reveals otherwise, that we are watching the plot unfold into a clever  movie with a twist. If you haven't watched The Thing (2011), please beware the ending will be revealed.

***Movie Spoiler***

The Thing (2011) features a clever twist ending. Kate and Sam leave the spaceship. They destroyed what they think is left of the Alien virus. Sam enters the vehicle. He waits for Kate to get into the vehicle too.

Kate surveys Sam, hesitating to sit beside him in the snow vehicle. She tells him about how she knew he was human. On the way to the spaceship, Kate looks at Sam's earring and smiles.

The Thing is unable to replicate any metal objects. Sam must've been infected inside the spaceship. He touches the wrong ear, definitely revealing to the moviegoer he is no longer Sam.

Kate apologizes to Sam. She torches him alive. Sam's human shell and The Thing burn. We assume kills the remaining Alien virus.

Back at camp, a helicopter lands on the ground. The pilot calls out for camp members. Lars, who we thought died, frantically runs outside. He is acting hysterical, telling the pilot they must go after the dog.

The same Husky dog is featured in the opening sequence to the original The Thing (1982). The Thing (2011) twist ending conveys to us that we are watching a prequel to the original movie.

Lars and the pilot will continue to shoot at the dog carrying the Alien Virus. Eventually, the helicopter will crash. The dog will make it into another camp to infect everyone except for a few characters, with one being Kurt Russell.

The Thing (2011) twist ending is that this movie is a prequel to the original horror classic released in 1982. Every event leads us up to the ending, and then another round of Alien infestations in The Thing (1982).

The camp is later visited in The Thing (1982) movie. The Thing (2011) twist ending is obvious to horror movie fans who watched The Thing (1982) version.

The Thing (2011) is a great movie with a twist ending we never expected until the dog comes running out and Lars and the helicopter go after the Alien virus. Thus, the plot makes sense that this Alien virus can infect any living host.

Shutter Island twist ending

Shutter Island has one of those twist endings with a major revelation. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Teddy Daniels, a detective investigating the whereabouts of a missing patient. In the movie ending, the plot twist will have moviegoers reflecting back to the beginning, middle, and then to the end again.

***Spoiler Alert***

Detective Daniels is dispatched out to Shutter Island to investigate a missing patient. The missing female patient tells Daniles there are unauthorized experiments going on at Shutter Island.

In the Shutter Island twist ending, Dr. Cawley (Ben Kingsley) informs Teddy he killed his wife after she murdered his children. It is an accident that leaves his mind crazy. Teddy refuses to believe, though he finally remembers the moment he comes home to find his children laying on the grass dead.

His wife Dolores is acting as if nothing happened. After Teddy attempts to resuscitate his children, he eventually loses it and accidentally kills his wife in the process. Teddy creates a fantasy world in his mind to suppress the traumatic experience which institutionalized him.

Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) is supposedly Teddy's partner. The two are viewed as U.S. Marshalls. However, Chuck is a physician at Shutter Island. In the final scene, Teddy continues to believe he is a U.S. Marshall instead of an ailing patient. Dr. Cawley authorizes a lobotomy to free his mind.

Shutter Island twist ending conveys an imaginary world devised to suppress horrible memories. The movie ending explains the entire plot with clever tricks throughout the story. Shutter Island executes the the best twist ending to reveal the truth of Teddy's state of being. Great twist ending!

Insidious twist ending

Last year's horror hit featured a shocking twist ending. The Insidious movie plot is about a young child whose astral projection binges cause him to get stuck into a subplane in another alternate dimension. In result, evil spirits haunt the home and a red-faced demon preys on the young boy's unoccupied physical body.

***Spoiler Alert***

The Insidious twist ending is never expected. Josh's astral form is close to making it back into his physical body. He confronts the old woman that caused him night terrors as a child. The evil old woman grins at Josh like she will have the last laugh.

Josh shouts at the old woman to leave him alone. In a matter of seconds, Josh returns into his physical body. Renai and Josh's mother attended to Dalton.

Elise and Josh are alone in the living room. Josh tells Elise he will no longer need the photo. He passed the photo to Elise. Elise senses there is something obviously wrong with Josh. She pulls out a camera and flashes a picture of Josh.

Thus, Elise shockingly reacts to the image. Josh goes into rage. He chokes the living daylights out of Elise, telling her why she would do that - to take the picture.

Renai enters the room to find Elise dead. She views the camera screen, finding an old woman in the frame instead of Josh. Josh grabs Renai's shoulder. Renai sighs in disbelief.

The Insidious twist ending conveys the transformation. This evil old woman spirit waited for Josh to astral project again. In The Astral Hell of the subplanes, astral beings have all the time in the world to wait.

The old woman possessed Josh's physical body prior to his reentry. She already reached Josh in his childhood years. Therefore, the old woman completed the full possession in the latter years. The Insidious twist ending shocks the movie audience since they anticipate everything will turn out good.

The Insidious twist ending ties up the loose ends to make for one clever movie ending. Hence, the old woman's spirit is reborn in Josh's body. She possessed him, now becoming a part of the world again.

This is one horror movie twist ending that leaves the moviegoer thinking about astral projection, possession, and evil spirits. Insidious does an excellent job in tricking the moviegoer with the twist ending.
