Was there a twist ending in Chernobyl Diaries? Yes, there is a twist ending in the new nuclear film. The twist ending is that former Prypiat residents transformed into zombies due to the radiation fallout. It is possible Ukraine scientists experimented with those left behind in the Chernobyl 1986 nuclear disaster.  

In the Chernobyl Diaries movie trailer, we assume Prypiat is haunted with paranormal activity. However, the occupants are none other than zombies or some unknown Descent lookalike creatures who devoured the majority of the Americans, an Aussie couple, and the Russian tour guide. 

Chernobyl twist ending is that Amanda is the only surviving group member. Nobody knows her exact whereabouts, so the Ukraine scientists decide to throw her inside a dark room. In this room, a group of zombies begin to devour her. The shocking ending is released in spurts to warn us that there is some kind of conspiracy going on at Chernobyl. In a movie sense, Chernobyl is not as safe a place as the Russian government suggested it to be in 2002.  

The entire nuclear film is about strange activity resulting from the past nuclear disaster in 1986, causing former residents there to transform into zombie creatures. These zombies eat whomever visit the abandoned city of Prypiat. The two final characters experience radiation burns under Reactor 4. The Ukraine soldiers shoot Paul dead, and then take Amanda to a top secret research facility. 

Chernobyl Diaries twist ending is complete when Amanda is thrown into the dark room, only to be smothered by hungry zombies craving warm human meat. The nuclear film is a decent written movie with some suspenseful moments, believable characters, and a good backdrop to deliver an exciting premise.

In essence, the Chernobyl Diaries movie has a twist to reveal a conspiracy, zombie creatures, and that Chernobyl is not abandoned. Chernobyl Diaries is a good horror movie with a twist. As the Chernobyl Diaries movie tagline reads, "Experience the Fallout."
