The Duplex twist ending

Danny Devito's The Duplex (2003) is a comedy starring Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore. This American Dream come true theme turns into a nightmare and this calls for drastic measures. Alex Rose (Ben Stiller) and Nancy Kendricks (Drew Barrymore) move into their dream home and they life begins to fall apart. One person keeps this couple from living their perfect life together in a fabulous duplex in New York City.

The Duplex features a twist ending that is tightly woven. Most viewers didn't suspect this twist until the exact moment this payoff played on the screen. If you haven't watched The Duplex yet, then avoid reading the twist ending below.

***Spoiler Alert***

Alex Rose and Nancy Kendricks purchase an amazing duplex in an eloquent neighborhood in New York City. Alex is an author, whereas Nancy works in publishing. There is one catch in this perfect beginning; the older woman who lives above and in their duplex is needy and irritating.

The old woman is impossible to please. No matter how hard this couple tries to meet their landlord obligations, this old woman manages to overcome every obstacle put in her path. She causes a disbalance, eventually influencing this couple to get rid of her. However, the old woman is like an indestructible German tank unwilling to accept defeat.

Alex and Nancy practically lose their jobs. They hire a hitman to murder the old woman, but the extermination plan is wrecked and this practically cost them to lose everything they own. Then, a fire breaks out and Alex chooses to save the old woman he and Nancy wanted so badly dead.

The real estate agent finalized the deal. He convinces the couple to say goodbye to the old woman. When the real estate agent and couple see the old woman, she is sitting in the chair lifeless. The real estate agent checks her pulse and confirms she is dead.

Alex and Nancy have this disgusted look planted on their faces. The timing of her death was terrible. They could have retained the duplex, instead of losing out a bundle selling it early.

The couple discuss the old woman, wondering if she's in heaven. They seem to put their hatred aside to honor this old woman.

In the twist ending, the old woman is still alive. She is having dinner with her son and his policeman boyfriend, who terrorized the couple. On the mantle, we see a wedding photo on the mantle along with many others. We learn that these three people duped many couples to sell the duplex. It is a recurring theme for couples to purchase the duplex, and then sell once they couldn't take the torture anymore.

The end.

Sinister twist ending

Sinister features an awesome twist ending. The plot is designed to give clues of the twist. 2012 is the year good metaphysical movies with twist endings. Ethan Hawke plays a great author that stumbles upon a box of Super 8. The twist ending in Sinister is not your typical happy ending. If you haven't watched Sinister yet, beware we will be revealing the twist ending.

***Movie Spoiler***

The Sinister twist ending is unpredictable. We see the Oswalt family exit their home as quickly as possible. Ellison realizes his book plan - moving a home involved in a murder scene - backfired on the family.

Deputy So-and-So (name Ellison gives him) attempts to call Ellison throughout the day. Ellison ignores the Deputy's call several times, albeit he takes his call. There is a pattern to the murders. Every family lived in the same homes, so there is a pattern to the murders.

If you remember back to the various footage, there is a camera following the murders. The families were usually helpless, unknowingly meeting their impending death in different ways. The twist ending is that every missing child in these cases committed the murders. Pagan deity Baghul, the eater of children, possessed the child to kill their family.

Ellison rediscovers the movie box again. He is shocked to see a box he torched at his previous home. He finds an envelope with split film ends. This film ends given an explanation to the murders. Baghul possessed the missing children, who are each responsible for killing their families.

Ashley is the final piece to the puzzle. She poisons her father. In the dining area, Ashley ties up her family. Ellison is helpless. Ashely drags an ax in one hand, and a film camera in another. She butchers her entire family. The missing children show up on the film footage.

Baghul appears behind Ashley. He picks her up and the two enter the film screen. Sinister twist ending conveys that Baghul possessed the missing children from the previous murders. These children filmed the murders. The catch is the children committed the murders with a lawn mower, fire, hanging, and then finally an ax.

Ashley draws a picture of her family chopped up in pieces. She tells her father that she will make him famous again. He is longing to find his groove again after writing a best selling crime book. Baghul possessed the children to murder their families. The children committed the murder while filming their insidious act.

Ellison and his family die. There are no survivors. The last remaining child killers are consumed in the film. Baghul is an evil Pagan demon that recruits the children to carry out his evil plan.

Sinister conveys a cycle that keeps repeating itself. The next family will discover the same movie box. They will watch the film. In the end, one child will murder them.

Great twist ending to end an awesome horror movie. Sinister is a movie well worth watching this weekend.

The Orphan twist ending

The Orphan is a psychological thriller about a couple who adopt an orphan girl to rebuild their marriage. As odd things begin to go wrong, the wife begins to suspect the orphan is the problem. The Orphan twist ending explains the motivation that drives this movie plot. If you haven't watched The Orphan movie, then avoid reading the twist ending below.

***Movie Spoiler***

The Orphan twist ending will expose a character. John and Kate adopt a 9-year old girl from the orphan. Esther appears bright, smart and well-mannered. She warms up to John, but it is Kate that she tries to sabotage. Esther is worse than the girl from Case 39.

In the twist ending  we discover the true identity of Esther. Kate contacted an overseas location in Russia. She assumes that this location is a Russian orphanage. However, the medical director informs Kate that Esther is not who they think she is. In fact, Esther is a 30 something psychotic woman. She is extremely dangerous.

Kate rushes home to save her daughter and husband. Meanwhile, John rejects Esther. He has no clue she is a grown woman with a birth defect. She appears as a child. Underneath her granny clothing are scars smothering her neck line and her wrists. The doctor speaks of the scars to Kate while Esther is removing her clothes and makeup to reveal a hideous looking adult.

Esther is a crazy woman who burned a home with a family inside. She killed the family because the husband rejected her. John also rejected Esther. He tells Esther that he loves Kate and he could never feel this way about Esther. Of course, John lacks any information of Esther's past. She is not a little innocent girl.

Essentially, The Orphan twist ending is that Esther is a dangerous 30 something woman that is the most violent patient the mental institute treated and that Kate;s family is in danger.

Kate finally reaches the home. She finds her husband dead. Max is in danger. Kate falls through the glass and crushes Esther. The police inspect the home. Esther's whereabouts are unknown to them.

Kate and Esther get into a scuffle on ice. Max attempts to shoot Esther. She had enough of this lying psycho. The bullets cracks a hole in the frozen lake, where Kate and Esther fall into the icy water. Kate swims up to the top. Esther grabs her leg, holding a knife behind her back.

Kate already knows Esther is no child. Esther says mommy to Kate. Kate responds back with telling Esther you are not my daughter and kicks her jaw. Esther sinks to the bottom of the lake.

We learn that Kate discover the truth about Esther, the mysterious Russian girl who is in fact a 30 something psycho woman with a dwarfism syndrome. She is highly dangerous, proving this in the mental institute. She burned down another home, killing entire family in the process. Esther is a manipulative psychopath.

The Orphan twist ending will trick most moviegoers. They never suspect Esther is a grown woman. Her small frame conveys to many that she may be a devil girl rather than a 30 something woman who escaped a Ukrainian mental institute. The Orphan twist ending serves up a plot twist known as a discovery. As a result, the main protagonist discovers that Esther is a grown woman with psychotic tendencies.

This Orphan twist ending finally finds closure, ultimately stopping a violent woman from wreaking havoc on vulnerable families. Esther finally meets her end at the bottom of a lake. Karma delivers the ultimate payback.

Rest Stop twist ending

B grade horror flick Rest Stop released on October 17, 2006. Nicole Carrow (Jamie Alexander) and her boyfriend Jess Hilts (Joey Mendicino) decide to leave their hometown to Hollywood. At a dark rest stop, a real horror story unfolds.

Rest Stop twist ending is never expected, though by the time we discover the twist the interest in the movie already flamed out in the midpoint. If you haven't watched Rest Stop, beware that will be dishing out the twist ending spoiler.

***Twist Ending***

Nicole is trying to keep Officer Michael Deacon (Joey Lawrence) alive. He is severely wounded, profusely bleeding out on the ground. The killer is keeping the two hostage inside a rest stop restroom. Nicole is missing a few of her fingers, which the killer pried off through the door.

After a night of terror, the truth about Nicole's fate is uncovered. In the next morning, she shouts and screams from inside a rest room. She tries to seek help.

A person hears a woman's voice. We assume the serial killer murdered Jess, Officer Deacon, and Nicole the previous night. Nonetheless, the murders occurred long ago. The twist ending is that Nicole, Officer Michael Deacon, Jess, and others are missing people. Their pictures are posted on a nearby pole along with missing runaways.

The serial killer murdered people who stopped at the rest stop. Nicole never realized she died until the end. Her soul keeps reliving the nightmare of the night her boyfriend got killed, the police office died, and when the serial killer took her life.

Rest Stop is a B grade flick you can find a Blockbusters. You can also purchase the movie with clicking on the image. Rest Stop twist ending answers the catalyst of what happens to Jess and Nicole. We figure out the twist ending is a resolution to their murders. Good twist ending in a low budget horror movie.

Great Twist Endings to use in movie scripts

Dancing House, the famous twisting building in Prague cityAre you writing a movie script? Want to write a great twist ending? As you may know, M. Night Shyamalan has made a good living writing twist endings. Even though M. Night tries to detach from the Mr. Twist Endings signature label, his movies almost always feature a twist at the movie end. Ready to write great twist endings?

Twist endings and or plot twists are revelations that occur in the ending to change the entire outcome. In movies, twist endings make movie fans rethink the plot design. Recent movies such as Chernobyl Diaries, Intruders, The Woman in Black, Shutter Island, and Cabin in the Woods feature twist endings.

The later movie is debatable since many Cabin in the Woods supporters argue that Josh Whedon throws out many hints to warn viewers that his movie is making fun of the horror genre. In any case, Cabin in the Woods never warned viewers of.. close your eyes if you haven't watched yet ... nightmares, past horror characters, fears, and the end of the world.

According to most twist ending or plot twist definitions, the ending spins the plot into another direction to provide new truth. The serial killer is another person. Examples of movie spoilers are below:

  • Twisted (Samuel L. Jackson is the killer instead of Ashley Judd)
  • The Sixth Sense (Bruce Willis is a ghost)
  • Silent Hill (Rose and her daughter are dead)
  • Sleepaway Camp (Angela is a boy raised as a girl)
  • Psycho (1960) (Norman acts as his dead mother he killed - he is the killer)
  • The Game (Michael Douglas is in a game that seems too real - all staged up until he realizes his fate while following through the window)
  • Fight Club (Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are the same person - alter egos)
  • Shutter Island (Leo is a mental patient who lives in a fictional world - while working as U.S Marshall, he find that his wife murdered his children due to her depression - he kills his wife)
  • The Uninvited (Emily left a mental asylum to kill father's girlfriend - suggesting the girlfriend killed the mother in a fire she accidentally started. In the fire, the sister is also killed. The twist ending reveals the trickery involved in the plot)
  • The Usual Suspects (Kevin Spacey is the killer that uses content in the office to make up a false story - he is no crippled man - great twist ending)
  • Scream (two serial killers - one is Sidney's boyfriend)

When you experience movies with twist endings, the first thing most viewers claim is that I knew the twist would happen. Cabin in the Woods movie supporters informed us the predictable ending is obvious. Predicting endings can also serve as twist endings, though the screenwriter prefers to trick the viewers.

How do you write great twist endings in your movie script? You can write out the twist ending first. This way, you can work backyard to tell the story. Another good screenwriting technique is to give small hints in small plot points throughout the story such as in Passengers movie. Watch the movie to get an idea of an effective twist ending with a major revelation to explain the entire plot.

Great twist endings spin the plot into a new direction. Insert a surprise in the ending to show viewers a completely awesome twist. Psychological movies deliver great twist endings. Think back to Mr. Brooks ending in which Mr. Brooks calls Atwood to reveal Smith is not the Thumbprint killer. He asks Atwood the reason she chooses to become a detective rather than choose to be wealthy. The falling action is that Mr. Brooks daughter is like him - another killer with an alter ego such as himself.

Want to write great twist endings? Watch movies with twist endings that compliment your movie genre. If you are planning a horror movie, watch horror movies with a twist. Enjoy psychological movies and psychological thrillers? Watch these types of movies to understand how the write shapes the twist from beginning to end.

There is an art in writing twist endings? The twist ending relies on the setup. You are essentially revealing an untold truth to reshape the plot. M. Night Shyamalan is known as Mr. Twist Endings since his movies end with a twist. He presented his name as a billing on Devil. This movie features a twist ending that answers the questions presented in the setup.

Make sure you write twist endings that make sense. Throwing out a confusing ending will lose your audience. In our opinion, Cabin in the Woods has a bad twist ending. Avid fans will think otherwise that plot clues were available throughout the movie, and the movie end is an expected outcome. We suppose most movie viewers knew the ending would involve a dumb twist. We doubt it. A good writer wrote a bad ending.

Practice writing short films with twist endings. A rule of thumb is to create a 10-20 page script. Once you get comfortable writing twist endings, then go after the full feature film. Write a twist ending that spins the plot. Flashbacks are the best writing technique to convey a twist ending. Write an awesome movie script with a great twist ending!

Movies with Twist Endings 2012

***Warning***

***Plot Spoiler***

The 2012 movie box office released a few movies with twist endings. We all know that M. Night Shyamalan is the master of twist endings. However, we are seeing more twist endings than usual in Hollywood movies. Twist endings in horror movies changed the dynamics of the plot design. The 2012 box office is leaning toward establishing itself as the year of twist endings.

A twist ending occurs in the film ending. Thus, moviegoers are showered with the complete truth to the plot through flashbacks. What moviegoers expect in the final resolution is instead a twist with a catch. Some examples of twist endings in movies are Fight Club, Memento, The Sixth Sense, Psycho, The Game, and Sleepaway Camp. In the film ending, the moviegoer discover a major twist to explain the plot.

2012 box office movies with twist endings bring back the classic twist most moviegoers enjoy most. The best twist endings make the movie experience an exciting psychological game. Intruders, The Devil Inside, The Woman in Black, and Cabin in the Woods utilize twist endings for better and or worse.

Intruders explains that Juan as a boy is John as an adult. His mother covered up the death of his biological father with telling him a false story. John grew without knowing his father died, though the initial traumatic episode remained suppressed in his mind up until adulthood.

John's daughter finds the Hollowface story, which she is led to believe nonetheless the fake monster with no face is a real monster. The paranormal movie is thus a psychological thriller designed to trick the moviegoer. We feel this twist ending is effective enough to explain the origin of Hollowface.

The Devil Inside twist ending is a disaster. Most exorcism movies end with the last exorcism. However, The Devil Inside filmmakers decide to insert a car crash into the exorcism movie to end their film abruptly. This twist ending is one of the worst ever. What exorcism movie in the past ends without performing an exorcism? None!

The Woman in Black twist ending is great. Arthur reconnects the woman in black with her son. However, the twist ending tricks the moviegoing public into believing Arthur and his son will live happily ever after. The father and son die in the end. As a result, Arthur and his son Joseph bond with Stella, a mother and wife who prematurely passed away moments after giving birth.

The Woman in Black twist ending is awesome. Moviegoers watch Arthur join his wife in the afterlife. Even better, Joseph meets his mother for the first time ever. Horror movies should imitate twist endings such as The Woman in Black and Intruders to build suspense in the movie plot.

The most recent science fiction/horror movie Cabin in the Woods is the new king of bad twist endings in horror movies. Hence, Cabin in the Woods is staged as a slasher film up until the ultimate twist ending reveals the dumb movie plot.

Moviegoers soon realize the disaster in shaping the slasher horror film into a science fiction/fantasy movie. Cabin in the Woods integrates far too many genres into one movie. Here we have a horror movie piled on with subgenres sought out to boost creativity and originality. In this horror movie twist ending, the buffet of genres create confusion.

What is the Cabin in the Woods really about? Why is the movie so stupid? How can fears and nightmares attack and kill living people? Gods, rituals and end of the world themes all in one are totally ineffective to make the movie interesting. Hands down, Cabin in the Woods projects the worst twist ending in movies.

The 2012 movie box office is dealing out twist endings like there is no tomorrow. We suppose twist endings in horror movies give moviegoers, but tricking everyone with a twist ending that shifts the genre is poor execution.

Moviegoers will likely discuss the Cabin in the Woods twist ending. It is a twist ending unlike most slasher movies. The best scene in the Cabin in the Woods movie is the film ending. The twist ending dragged on too long, and then introduced mythical creatures, dreams, nightmares and fears into an all-in-one movie disaster. Cabin in the Woods is a stupid, dumb and terrible movie with a bad twist ending.

Enjoy movie twist endings? Want to watch twist endings in movies? Horror movies with twist endings are the most entertaining to watch. Avoid delving in movie with terrible twist endings. Check out M. Night Shyamalan past movies, the director whose known for utilizing twist endings to engage moviegoers.

In short, the plot twist is another term used to describe movies with a twist. Past movies with twist endings are common among director/writer M. Night Shyamalan. Want to watch a twist ending in action? Enjoy movies with a twist in the 2012 box office.

The characters in the motel are extensions of Malcolm's personalities. However, Malcolm murdered several motel occupants. In Malcolm's imaginary world, he created identical birthdays to show the connection between the characters. The plot point conveys that mental disorders such as dissociative identity disorder and personality disorders represent the source of the murders.

In the Identity twist ending, the young boy personality is the most dangerous. It is possible that Malcolm's mind is that of a child of he experiment trauma in his childhood that caused him to become a killer. The twist ending is similar to detective stories - putting the clue together to solve the murder case.

The Sucker Punch twist ending is clever. We already know that Babydoll utilizes astral projection techniques to escape the horror of the mental institution. The plot design conveys to the moviegoer that everything viewed is an alternate reality to devise a twist ending.

If you haven't watched Sucker Punch yet, beware that major spoilers will give away the movie ending.

***Major Spoilers***

***Sucker Punch twist ending***

Sucker Punch is a metaphysical movie with a twist ending which resembles Shutter Island. The Sucker Punch twist ending is that Babydoll devises a plan to help Sweet Pea escape the mental institution.

The resolution in the third act leads the moviegoers to put together the clues. Babydoll astral projects multiple times to engage the institutionalized girls in her fantasy. If the moviegoers watched the girls operate in reality, then Sucker Punch would have been rather boring.

The Sucker Punch twist ending reveals to the moviegoing public that Babydoll planned the escape to help the strongest girl leave the mental institution. The story is never about Babydoll's journey. Therefore, the twist ending shows the doctor performing a lobotomy on Babydoll to end her fantasy.

Sweet Pea manages to escape the mental institution, meeting the Wise Man in Babydoll's fantasy world. We consider the fantasy world an astral world and or the astral plane. Sweet Pea doesn't recognize the Wise Man because Babydoll somehow creates highly intellectual fantasies.

The Sucker Punch twist ending is that everyone helped Sweet Pea escape the mental institution. Babydoll does stab Blue in the neck, starts a fire, and also create a club scene which the mental patients and herself are female dancers. Once out of reality, the moviegoer recognizes the workers as part of the reality. Babydoll astral projected into the astral worlds to escape mental pain.

The Sucker Punch twist ending conveys a fantasy world to cover up a dark world. Babydoll sacrificed her sanity to save another stronger girl to leave a place she doesn't belong. In the twist ending, the characters in the fantasy are created to explain the plot design through astral projection techniques.

The Master of Twist Endings: M. Night Shyamalan

M. Night Shyamalan is known as a writer/director who executes twist endings in his metaphysical movies. Most of M. Night's movies are related to spiritual themes. Even M. Night acknowledges that most critics and movie fans identify him as the master of twist endings. When you think of M. Night Shyamalan's movies, they mostly features twist endings.

M. Night Shyamalan bursted onto the Hollywood scene with The Sixth Sense. Although the writer/director made several films prior to the 1999 The Sixth Sense mega-blockbuster, the Disney movie showed a darker side to the twist ending in action.

The horror movie with a twist revealed a major plot twist that explained Malcolm's existence. The Sixth Sense marked the beginning to many twist endings in M. Night Shyamalan's latter films.

Unbreakable featured a twist ending. The Village ended with a twist. The Lady in the Water also employed another twist. The Happening twist ending ceases climate destruction on the East Coat of American, only to start up again in Paris, France.

M. Night's sponsored the Devil movie (his story) that also features a major twist ending with the Devil appearing in the flesh to scare the Hell out of the movie audience and the cast members. The Last Airbender also ends with a twist.

M. Night will always be recognized as the writer/director who utilizes twist endings. In The Sixth Sense, Malcolm is a ghost the entire movie. The Village portrays a village stuck inside another time. We enjoy M. Night Shyamalan's twist endings because he explains the plot points to shed light on the reason such events occur in the movie. We think back to the setup to connect the dots.

The master of twist endings is planning to make a future movie - After Earth (2013) - with Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. We expect M. Night to use his trademark twist ending in the Alien movie due out next year. Twist endings are fun to watch since the film ending shocks us with a revelation.

Final Destination 5 twist ending

Final Destination 5 is the last movie in the Final Destination franchise. We notice a major twist ending in the metaphysical movie about death. If you haven't watched Final Destination 5 yet, beware that this movie ending spoiler features major spoilers.

***Major Spoilers***

Sam stabs his good friend Peter in the back (no pun intended) to save his girlfriend Molly from what would've been another disastrous ending for the former The Walking Dead cast member.

Sam accepts Agent Jim Block's life to abandon his fate. Supposedly, the person who is destined to die can live if they kill another person. However, Sam never intentionally killed Agent Block. Peter planned to kill Molly to take her life.

The twist ending begins in the next scene. Peter and Molly are ready to take their much awaited flight to Paris. Sam accepted a cook internship in Paris. The two defied death to survive another day.

Sam struggles with the overhead compartment on their seat side. Therefore, Sam loads the bag in the compartment adjacent to their seating. The flight attendant secures the overhead department above Sam and Molly's seat.

The twist ending is now obvious. Young combative adolescents are removed from the airplane. We notice American Pie's Stiffler walking with he group. Alex and Carter are being restrained. Claire also follows because she feels a connection to what Alex is experiencing.

Seeing the Final Destination characters, hearing the eerie song, and the flight attendant mentioning the kid had a vision confirmed the twist all along. We are watching a prequel to Final Destination. Sam and Molly are flying on Flight 180, the doomed flight that crashed in New York City in the Final Destination (2000) movie.

Sam views his flight ticket, which shows the 2000 date as consistent with the Final Destination movie released in 2000. This is one plane Sam and Molly should've avoided. Every unfortunate event pointed the couple away from taking this flight. The plane's wing catches fire, creating intense pressure in the cabin.

The side of the plane blows open to suck out several people, including Molly. Molly smashes into the wing to combust into many bloody pieces. Once the explosion ignites the entire plane, Sam dies. The fiery debris project into the ocean. We see another take on the real events in the Final Destination plane crash.

Even more disturbing is the fact that Nathan accepted Roy's life. The company performed an autopsy to discover Roy's impending brain aneurysm. As a result, Roy was expected to die prior to actually dying in Nathan's place. The engine from the airplane dropped into the bar to crush Nathan into pulp.

If you want to watch Final Destination movies in sequential order:
  1. Final Destination 5
  2. Final Destination
  3. Final Destination 2
  4. Final Destination 3
  5. The Final Destination
The twist ending in Final Destination 5 is that it's a prequel to Final Destination. Sam and Molly are flying on flight 180, the plane that crashes in Final Destination (2000). The Final Destination plot design is arranged in sequential order from Final Destination 5 to The Final Destination.

The twist ending clues are removing the adolescents from the plane, the flight attendant mentioning the kid having a vision and the plane ticket showing us a 2000 date. As in most Final Destination movies, a relevant song plays to alert the main character of their demise.

The Final Destination 5 twist ending is catchy since we never expect the movie to be a prequel. Nonetheless, the reversed 180 on the restaurant and the Paris internship point to the twist ending.

The Thing (2011) features a clever twist ending. Kate and Sam leave the spaceship. They destroyed what they think is left of the Alien virus. Sam enters the vehicle. He waits for Kate to get into the vehicle too.

Kate surveys Sam, hesitating to sit beside him in the snow vehicle. She tells him about how she knew he was human. On the way to the spaceship, Kate looks at Sam's earring and smiles.

The Thing is unable to replicate any metal objects. Sam must've been infected inside the spaceship. He touches the wrong ear, definitely revealing to the moviegoer he is no longer Sam.

Kate apologizes to Sam. She torches him alive. Sam's human shell and The Thing burn. We assume kills the remaining Alien virus.

Back at camp, a helicopter lands on the ground. The pilot calls out for camp members. Lars, who we thought died, frantically runs outside. He is acting hysterical, telling the pilot they must go after the dog.

The same Husky dog is featured in the opening sequence to the original The Thing (1982). The Thing (2011) twist ending conveys to us that we are watching a prequel to the original movie.

Lars and the pilot will continue to shoot at the dog carrying the Alien Virus. Eventually, the helicopter will crash. The dog will make it into another camp to infect everyone except for a few characters, with one being Kurt Russell.

The Thing (2011) twist ending is that this movie is a prequel to the original horror classic released in 1982. Every event leads us up to the ending, and then another round of Alien infestations in The Thing (1982).

The camp is later visited in The Thing (1982) movie. The Thing (2011) twist ending is obvious to horror movie fans who watched The Thing (1982) version.

The Thing (2011) is a great movie with a twist ending we never expected until the dog comes running out and Lars and the helicopter go after the Alien virus. Thus, the plot makes sense that this Alien virus can infect any living host.

Silent Hill twist ending

Silent Hill arrived in the movie box office in 2006. The metaphysical movie features a twist ending that explains the movie plot. If you haven't watched Silent Hill, then we recommend you avoid reading the twist ending spoiler below.

***Movie Spoiler***

Rosa Da Silver fights against the evil town people and the monsters that reside in the Silent Hill town, an evil underworld. She has no clue about what is causing the unexplainable events to occur. Rosa's husband Christopher goes looking for his wife and daughter in the deserted Silent Hill town. Silent Hill is a town that previously burned down due to a major fire.

In the Silent Hill twist ending, the moviegoer finally discovers Rosa and her daughter Sharon are dead. The two died in a car accident (the turning point), which is the reason their souls are capable of moving about the subplanes of The Astral Hell. The evil astral beings and town people remain trapped in Silent Hill because they continue to channel their hate into revenge.

Rosa could never communicate with Christopher. We think Christopher will eventually hear Rosa shouting on the other side of the wall. However, Rosa and the policewoman, Cybil Bennett are trapped in another dimension.

The twist ending reveals that Rosa and her daughter are dead. Cybil, Rosa, and Sharon died in a collision on an icy road leading up to Silent Hill. Without knowing so, the three characters assimilated into the town with deceased citizens who died in the previous fire.

Rosa and Sharon's point in view (darkness ambience) inside their home show the two are indeed deceased. Christopher probably felt their presence, but he couldn't see his wife and daughter in human form. The clever twist ending explained the movie plot, conveying to us that only the dead can see the true evil from within Silent Hill.

Devil twist ending

John Erick Dowdle's The Devil movie features a good twist ending that is rather shocking. We never expect the movie ending to twist the movie plot in another direction. If you haven't watched the Devil movie, then stop reading this twist ending assessment now.

***Movie Spoiler***

The Devil twist ending is consistent with most M. Night Shyamalan movies. The moviegoer is always treated to a twist ending. Most moviegoers identify M. Night as Mr. Twist Ending.

Essentially, M. Night sponsored the Devil movie because his star power is capable of propelling a new movie into blockbuster status. The Devil movie features a frightening twist ending which ties up all loose ends in the plot design. We see the Devil movie as a homage to M. Night's movies.

Detective Bowden's wife and son died in an explained car accident four years prior. Bowden watches the events in the elevator from the security control room.

The Mechanic (Logan Marshall Green) is the last person to survive in the elevator. Every elevator occupant died in a mysterious way. Thus, the characters are sinful humans that alerted the devil.

The twist ending in the Devil movie is the old woman (Jenny O'Hara) resurrecting herself as the Devil in flesh. The devil speaks through the old woman, telling the Mechanic that he is ready to take the sinful young man.

The Devil rises up with dark eyes. Most moviegoers will find a Devil sighting as an eerie scene in any movie. The Mechanic is imaginably frightened. He admits to his past sin, confessing a car accident that killed two people. The Mechanic leaves a note on the car to say he was so sorry.

Bowden begins to believe Ramirez's Devil claim. It is one day that is very odd. Everything wrong resides inside the elevator, packed with sinful people who could care less about others. In the twist ending, the Devil frightens the Mechanic enough to make him change.

Bowden escorts the Mechanic to jail. He reveals his anger to the wrongdoer, but then forgives the man for killing his wife and son. The twist ending is show that forgiving another person can keep hate from manifesting inside.

Hate is the root of evil. The Devil twist ending shocks the moviegoer with revealing the Devil in the flesh. The old woman is basically a decoy, a human shell that carries the Devil. The elevator occupant are sinners whose souls belong with the Devil. Nonetheless, the Mechanic confesses his sin and defeats the Devil in the process.

The Devil twist ending is satisfying. The twist ending answers the movie plot questions. In the Devil movie, the plot twist exposes the sinners to deal out the ultimate movie ending. Bowden learns the truth about his wife and son.

The movie twist ending reveals the Devil in flesh taking sinful souls. Nevertheless, one person is saved after confessing his sin and asking for forgiveness. Detective Bowden forgives the person who killed his wife and son in a car accident. The Devil loses the battle to take all sinful souls.

The Woman in Black ending explained

The Woman in Black movie ending is ambiguous to many moviegoers. The metaphysical movie features the best twist ending to tie up all loose ends. Do you want a quick ending spoiler to The Woman in Black movie to explain the ending? The Woman in Black movie executes a clever movie ending.

***Movie Spoiler***

Arthur returns the woman in black's son to the estate. Hence, the woman in black reclaims her son's spirit. Everything is supposed to turn out good in the movie ending. Arthur is excited to see his son Joseph at the train station.

Back at the estate, the woman in black echoes that she will never forgive. We learn the woman in black is a malevolent spirit on a vengeance to kill all children in the small town. She will never rest until her evil deed is done - to make the town pay for her son's death.

The woman in black's spirit is present at the train station. Joseph wonders away from his father, walking on the deadly train tracks with an incoming train quickly approaching. Arthur realizes Joseph is gone. He races to the train tracks to save his son. The movie audience is on the edge of their seats.

The train passes by with out any sign of Arthur and Joseph. Mr. Daily sees the woman in black and children souls projecting on the train windows. His previous anti-superstitious behavior is no longer keeping him from the truth. The previous children are trapped in the woman in black's web.

Arthur and Joseph are relieved to have survived the wrath of the train. But for the most part, the train station is pitch dark without any living people in the vicinity. Arthur and Joseph died in the train collision. Their spirits entered the subplanes of the astral plane, another dimension to the physical world.

The first sign of the afterlife is the dark, lifeless train station. Thus, the Angel wife/mother appears on the train tracks. Joseph asks his father who is that woman? Arthur approaches the woman in white. He tells his son that the woman is his mother.

Joseph happily smiles at his mother since this is the first time he meets her. As we know from the flashbacks, Stella dies shortly after giving birth to Joseph. Arthur and Joseph follow Stella down the pathway to Heaven.

The woman in black watches on with what we assume is melancholy and happiness. Nonetheless, the woman in black is unable to claim Joseph's soul. Arthur saved Joseph's spirit through sacrificing his life. If Arthur allowed Joseph to die on the train tracks alone, Joseph would have fallen into the woman in black's web.

The Woman in Black ending is merely an allegory to explain that enabling hate to manifest can lead a person down an evil path. A person is capable of harming another through taking vengeance. Humans who die violently and with hatred are exposed to pure evil within The Astral Hell of the subplanes.

Arthur doesn't commit suicide. He wants to save Joseph from the oncoming train. In the previous plot points, we learn that Arthur is still mourning his wife's death. The train collision deliver Arthur and Joseph to Stella. The woman in black has a magical movie ending with a twist.

The twist ending conveys the reuniting process between family members. Furthermore, the twist ending makes the moviegoer reflect back on the major plot points to close the ending. The movie plot is about vengeance attributed to losing a loved one. In a way, Arthur regrets losing his wife.

As a result, Arthur let his life slip into quicksand. The woman in black's curse helps Arthur to cope with his wife's death. In the movie twist ending, the woman in black loses the battle. Arthur and Joseph are reunited with Stella in the afterlife. The woman in black can never harm Joseph.

The twist ending explains The Woman in Black's movie plot rather well. The metaphysical movie shows Arthur and Joseph reach the afterlife. The father/husband and son reunite with Stella - the wife and mother. We see a happy family ready to walk down the heavenly train tracks into the gates of Heaven.

Meanwhile, the woman in black's hatred disrupts her evil plan to take Arthur's son. Her essential goal is to harm Arthur emotionally with taking his son. The woman in black wants to spread grief across the small town. The Woman in Black's movie twist ending explained the motivation behind the movie plot.
